Κτίσθηκε το 1960 για να αντικαταστήσει το παλαιό μουσείο, που είχε κατασκευασθεί το 1902 και το οποίο καταστράφηκε στους σεισμούς του 1956. Η ανέγερση του νέου Μουσείου ολοκληρώνεται αυτήν την περίοδο.

Συλλογές που περιλαμβάνει:

Γλυπτά από την αρχαϊκή μέχρι και τη ρωμαϊκή εποχή.

Επιγραφές από την αρχαϊκή μέχρι και τη ρωμαϊκή εποχή.

Κεραμική και πήλινα ειδώλια από τη γεωμετρική μέχρι και την ελληνιστική εποχή.

Archaeological Museum of Thera

It was built in 1960 by the Ministry of Public Works in order to replace the old museum (built in 1902), which had collapsed during the earthquakes of 1956.

The Museum contains the following collections:

Sculpture, ranging from the Archaic to the Roman period.

Inscriptions, ranging from the Archaic to the Roman period.

Vases and clay figurines, dating from the Geometric to the Hellenistic periods.
