The Archaeological Museum of Kea is located in Ioulida, the capital of the island. The exhibition is arranged over two floors and follows a chronological sequence. The second floor houses the Prehistoric Collection, featuring finds dating from 3300 to 1100 BC, while the first floor presents the Collection of the Historical Periods, covering the period from the 7th century BC to the 2nd century AD. The new exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Kea presents the exhibits in a modern and imaginative way, while also giving visitors the opportunity to discover important archaeological finds that had not previously been displayed. Among the highlights are the large clay female statues from the prehistoric settlement of Agia Irini, dating to the 15th century BC, as well as the attempt to reconstruct the pediments of the Temple of Athena at Karthaia, dating to around 500–490 BC.
