Περίλαμπρη οικία η οποία κατασκευάσθηκε το 370 π.Χ. και έμεινε σε λειτουργία έναν περίπου αιώνα. Ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό είναι το μωσαϊκό δάπεδο της με παραστάσεις Νηρηϊδος σε Ιππόκαμπο, μάχες Αριμασπών και Γρυπών, Σφιγγών και Λεφυτών. Αποτελεί χαρακτηριστικό δείγμα της οικιακής αρχιτεκτονικής των κλασικών και ελληνιστικών χρόνων. Τον 1ο π.Χ. αιώνα στο χώρο της “Οικίας των Ψηφιδωτών” ανηγέρθη ταφικός περίβολος.
Ανασκάφηκε από την Ελβετική Αρχαιολογική Σχολή από το 1975 έως και το 1980 και αναστηλώθηκε από την ίδια υπό την επίβλεψη της Ελληνικής Αρχαιολογικής Υπηρεσίας το 1990.

House with the mosaics at Eretria, Evia
This splendid house was built in ca. 370 B.C. and remained in use for about a century. It is distinguished by its floors, covered with elegant pebble mosaics representing mythological scenes: Nereids on the back of a seahorse, legendary battles between Arimaspians and griffins, sphinxes and panthers. The building is a representative specimen of the Classical and Hellenistic domestic architecture.
In the 1st century B.C. a funerary monument with a massive rectangular peribolos was erected over the ruins of the house.
The monument was excavated between 1975 and 1980.
