Στις αίθουσες του εκτίθενται τεκμήρια της θεατρικής ζωής, σκηνικά κοστούμια και σκηνικά αντικείμενα, φωτογραφίες, μακέτες, προσωπικά αντικείμενα σημαντικών ανθρώπων του θεάτρου, αφίσες και προγράμματα. Η βιβλιοθήκη περιλαμβάνει περί τους 25.000 τόμους για το θέατρο από την ελληνική και ξένη βιβλιογραφία. Το δε θεατρικό αρχείο, χειρόγραφα του 18ου αιώνα, προγράμματα και αφίσες από θιάσους από τον 19ο αιώνα.
Το Μουσείο ιδρύθηκε το 1938, από τον ιστορικό του Ελληνικού Θεάτρου Γιάννη Σιδέρη. Από το 1976, τον διαδέχθηκε ο θεατρικός συγγραφέας, Μανόλης Κορρές.

Museum and Study Centre of the Greek Theatre
In the Museum’s rooms are exhibited memorabilia of theatrical life, stage costumes and props, photographs, models of stage settings, personal belongings of leading figures of the theatre, as well as posters and programmes. The library includes about 25,000 volumes on the treatre, from Greek and foreign bibliography. The theatrical archives include 18th-century manuscripts, programmes and posters of theatre companies from the 19th century on.
The Museum was founded in 1938 by the historian of the Greek Theatre, Yiannis Sideris. He was succeeded in 1976 by the theatrical writer Manolis Kores.
