Evangelismos Station is a station of the Athens Metro, on Line 3. It is located in the center of Athens and was named after the Evangelismos Hospital in Kolonaki, in front of which it stands. It was inaugurated on January 28, 2000. The station is underground and features two side platforms. In the ticket hall area, archaeological findings discovered during its construction are on display, including an ancient cemetery with a burial enclosure, the Peisistratean aqueduct, and a road. During the post-dictatorship planning of Line 3, the station’s original location in the 1979 plans had been set in Rizari Park, under the name “Ilisia.”
